It has style and looks to be in decent condition but at the end of the day I am not into boats.

That’s a LOT of vintage V8 boat for the price if it drives okay.

Buy it!
Then do a burnout in it!
Then video the burnout and post it here!
That’s the closest to common sense I’m going to get, folks.
In all honesty, looks pretty solid. Check for bondo and rust on the bottoms of the rear quarter panels, there are some water traps there. The engine is huge, so if you’re not prepared to pay for single digit fuel economy, stay away. Otherwise, have fun with your personal luxury torque machine.

1. It’s ugly
2. I see it’s for your teenage son. Having totaled a 66 Mustang a couple of years ago at 30 mph when someone turned across traffic in front of me, I seriously recommend against this. Had I been going any faster (the speed limit was 35, and in my “normal” cars I run through there at 40 just to try to keep up with traffic), I’d likely be dead. As you know, the safety mechanisms in these old cars suck (my seatbelt somehow gave way). If you love the kid, don’t do it. (Strangely, my wife keeps encouraging me to get another classic.)

It’s cool, but it’s a hell of a lot less safe (in every way) than literally anything built in the last 20 years.

Nope. No talking of sense. In fact, buy this, and drive it to the Toyota meet if the Sunchaser isn’t ready.

No. I will not talk you out of it.
Do it.

Why would anyone talk you out of it? That thing’s pretty awesome.
